About Patrik Somers

Patrik Somers

Patrik is a Systemic Facilitator of Transformation, with over 30 years’ experience working with values. He is a pioneer of inner-leadership development and personal evolution methodologies. His approach begins with identifying values and purpose and leads to whole system alignment. Prior to a 10-year career in international consulting, Patrik spent 20 years in education as a teacher, facilitator and coach, specialising in curriculum design and development; emotional intelligence; behavioural change; personal and spiritual growth; mental health; and bereavement counselling and crisis intervention.

As former faculty of Barrett Values Centre, Patrik has decades of experience working with values and vision/mission in the non-profit and profit-for-purpose sectors, including at country level. He recently provided the guidance needed to initiate, set up, implement and work with the national values assessment of Indonesia. His global experience includes training and mentoring hundreds of Barrett consultants from multiple nationalities. His passion and expertise is in whole systems and systemic alignment through values, specialising in facilitation and coaching; curriculum design and development; emotional intelligence; personal and spiritual growth; mental health; bereavement counselling and crisis intervention. He created and facilitated the Barret Values Centre and ICF-accredited Evolutionary Coaching course. He was asked by BVC to be an advisor on the UN project ‘Culture of Peace and Nonviolence’ and is a founding member of the UN initiated Future Capital movement.

Patrik’s qualifications include: Facilitator of Transformation (Gita Bellin & Associates), Systemic Mapping and Constellations Facilitator, Barrett Analytics Practitioner, Clifton Strengths Finder Coach, Non-Violent Communication Facilitator, Adaptive Intelligence Coach, Contextual Family Counsellor, and Bereavement Counsellor. His publications include: ‘A World Book of Values’ (2014), several books on loss, grief and bereavement.

Originally from Belgium, Patrik became a British citizen in 2021
